DONATIONS NEEDED FOR THE ROOM IN ONE WEEK!!!!!

The prayer room is going to be up and running in 7 days! There are several items that we need for the room and we are asking for people to donate as they are led. Here is our list! If you're interested, then please write Laura Fissel at laura@fissel.com or call me at 336-420-0825 so I can get them from you!

Also, if you would like to send a financial gift, you can write a check, making it out to "24-7 Greensboro," and sending it to 2639 Walker Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27403.

NEEDED ITEMS:
Double-sided tape
Duck tape (black/white)
Bubbles and wands
Acrylic paints
Grill lighters
Candles (pillar)
Half n half
K-cups (coffee/tea)
Flat bedsheets (neutral colors and/or very small, subtle prints)

What is 24-7 Greensboro?

A local group that organizes week-long, non-stop prayer events in creative spaces. There, people of God make a commitment to gather, to seek, to listen, and to intercede for the church, the city, and the world. Weaving, painting, collaging, inscribing, candle-lighting, reading, singing, listening: multi-sensory aesthetic and creative opportunities are purposefully incorporated into each prayer event. The result is a place of respite from the loud rush of the world, a place to engage with the Divine, and space to begin to hear again.

Prayer Room FAQ

1. What should I expect when I arrive?

You will find creative prayer stations around the space that provide tactile ways to engage in prayer. Please do not feel boxed in by these suggestions, but feel free to pray however you are led.

2. Why do I have to pray at the space?

Part of the purpose of 24-7 events is to promote unity with your neighbor. There is something powerful about gathering in one place where you can see each other's prayers: it can serve to make us feel less isolated in our struggles, and provide space to encourage one another.

3. What are "open hours"?

During open hours, the door will be unlocked so that anyone can stop by to pray. Open hours are supervised and occur daily from 6-9am, 12-2pm, and 6-9pm. For security reasons, the rest of the time, the door will remain locked, and you will be let into the building when you arrive for your scheduled prayer time.

4. Do I have to pray for a whole hour?
The purpose of the hour slots is to keep the chain of prayer unbroken 24-7 for 7 days. People say that time flies in the prayer room! However, if you're not sure you want to sign up for a full hour, try coming during open hours first.
